Our journey began when Meera Basu, a young widow started a saree business to sustain her family from her home in Kolkata in 1974.

Her sense of style and hard efforts paid off and soon she started a full-fledged production unit of her own. Since then, there has been no looking back.

Over the years, keeping within the periphery of tradition, ‘Meera’ evolved its signature style with its unique designs and colour schemes. Apart from sarees Meera also deals in dress materials and dupattas.

Established in the year 1974, we at 'Meera' are engaged in manufacturing and retailing of an exclusive range of Sarees and Weaves which include Muslin Silk, Mooga Silk, Katan Silk, Kota Silk, Kora Silk, Tussar, Soft Silk, Cotton Dhanekhali, Tangail, Cotton Daccai, Jamdani and Kantha Stitch.

Traditional Bengal handloom sarees have acquired a distinct status with the 'Meera' trademark and are widely appreciated for beautiful designs and patterns. Apart from this, our master weaves are appreciated and demanded by famous fashion designers such as Rohit Bal, Abu Jani, Sandeep Khosla, TarunTahiliani and others. Traditional Bengal handloom sarees acquired a new status with ‘Meera’s’ trademark style as the nation’s most sought-after, wirh glamourous ladies starting to flaunt them with élan.
